Floating Interleaved Boost Converter with Zero-Ripple Input Current Using Variable Inductor

A zero-ripple input current is known to improve the lifetime of battery sets and fuel cells assure maximum power point tracking in PV panels. To perform ripple elimination a floating interleaved boost converter (FIBC), one typical linear inductors substituted by variable inductor, phases have complementary duty cycles. This inductor controlled using switched current-source converter, which adjusts ripple. An equivalent model for presented, including uncertainties component description. achieve stabilization, controller was designed sliding modes approach via fixed frequency. experimental prototype implemented tested with an output voltage compare conventional FIBC. The results demonstrate that proposed eliminated without significantly decreasing efficiency.
